Lotus Plaza is home to several shops, including Kaori (a perfume/aromatherapy shop), the Time Castle clock shop (that later sells Spell Cards thanks to a rumor), Gatten Sushi (where players can get status-enhancing food and speak to certain rumormongers), Satomi Tadashi (a drugstore), and the mysterious Velvet Room (where players can summon, stock and modify the abilities of Persona users). Home to several important locations, including Seven Sisters High School (where Tatsuya Suou and Lisa Silverman attend), Honmaru Park, Mount Iwato, Araya (Alaya) Shine, and Lotus Plaza, the ward’s mall. In-game, Sumaru City is named after a historical feudal warlord known as Kiyotada Sumaru that ruled the area during the Warring States Period of Japan. In Eternal Punishment, it is a seaside city with six wards: Rengedai, Hirasaka, Yumezaki, Aoba, Konan, and Narumi. The Gym Leaders are named after the Seven Sisters of the Pleiades star cluster in the night Sky.The events of Persona 2 (both Innocent Sin and Eternal Punishment) take place in the fictional Sumaru City, though many features of the city differ from game to game (such as the exact name or location of various bars/restaurants, character homes, and so on).Dispite the fact that Sumaru City and the Subaru region are major in the first two stories, it has only been mentioned in Echoes of Shadows.Sumaru seems to be the largest City in the region only competing with the Castelia City in Unova for the Largest City in Gen V.Sumaru City's name was borrowed from the game Persona 2: Innocent Sin and Eternal Punishment.There are also other cities outside the borders of Sumaru, they are either north or west of Sumaru City. Subaru (Pleiades) is east of Kanto and Johto and North of Hoenn, it is basicly northeast the Sevii Islands and north of the Orange Islands, the nearest Region by Subaru would be Sinnoh and Unova, and Subaru starts off with a new land mass. Where the Subaru (Pleiades) Region is located However Kandori of Team DEVA returned and caused Xibalba to rise from underneath Sumaru destroying most if not all of the city but since Jessie used Arceus to reset time to before Xibalba rose from the ground and saving Sumaru City from it's destruction. He would later ending up finding out that the Ameno Torifune that lies under the city was replaced by the floating ship called Xibalba. In Copper version the story remains the same but instead of the Crawling Chaos attacking Sumaru, it would feature the Night Queen who plans to awaken the Ameno Torifune and cast the world into a state of perpetual night.Īfter the events of Bronze and Copper, the story would switch to the prospective of Jessie Lowell. However this would be stopped by the effort of four trainers from the Hirasaka Ward and the city would be at peace once again.
Sumaru City is the hometown for the main characters, during the course of the story the city will come under attack by the Crawling Chaos whom escaped the seal placed by the Champion's family over fifty years ago, this would cause the Pokemon to awaken the Ameno Torifune that sleeps under the city and use it to destroy humanity. The City is a gateway for other Trainers from other regions like Kanto and Hoenn, to challenge the Subaru championship. However after a few years those cities united to make one large city renamed Sumaru City. Sumaru City was three to four cities that were separated by the near by mountians like Mt. Majority of the populaton of the Pleiades region reside within Sumaru City due to the abnormal freezing tempatures to the far north and the unatural heat to the far west, although during the middle of the game the tempatures has stablized resulting in more trainers to explore the once deadly regions.Ībout 80 years before the start of Bronze, Copper and Titanium Versions. There is a population of over, 40,000,000 people in Sumaru City that's twice the size of Goldenrod City in Johto or Castelia City in Unova.
